Four killed, 10 injured in a bus-lorry collision

Four passengers of an RTC bus were killed and nine others injured when the bus rammed into a parked lorry from behind at around 5.30 a.m. at Yacharam on the outskirts of the city.

The bus was on its way to Hyderabad from Ongole, the Yacharam Inspector, Sanjeeva Rao, said.

The lorry driver had parked the vehicle on roadside as some repairs were to be done. The bus driver failed to notice the lorry and crashed into it.

Srinivas (28), Valuramma (24), Saraswathi (65) and venkateswarlu (35) and another person believed to be the spare driver died instantly.

Ten other injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals. The condition of one injured passenger, Narayanamma, 65, is critical.

She is from Edomani village of Tanguturu mandal in Prakasam district. The deceased were from Gundemul village of Ongole district.
