As the last day for withdrawal of nominations ended on Monday, four candidates, who filed their papers for the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, were elected unopposed.
It was not so in the Telangana Legislative Council as seven candidates stayed put in the contest after the last day for withdrawal of nominations ended for the six vacancies from the Assembly quota.
According to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Secretary K. Satyanarayana Rao, the four declared elected unopposed include – former Speaker K. Pratibha Bharati and M.A. Sharief (both TDP), Somu Veeraraju (BJP) and D.C. Govinda Reddy (YSRC).
