Former TDP MLA found dead in quarters

April 17, 2010 03:53 pm | Updated 04:00 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

M. Seetharama Reddy (50) ex-MLA of Telugu Desam Party from Atmakur in Kurnool district, was found dead in the New MLA quarter no. 212 at Adarshnagar on Friday.

The highly decomposed body suggested that he died three days ago, the police said.

Investigators feel there was no foul play behind the former legislator's death. “He might have died of cardiac arrest. A nearly half-empty liquor bottle and a glass in the room suggested that he could have suffered a stroke while consuming liquor,” Saifabad Inspector in-charge, K. Ashoka Chakravarthy, said.

Inmates of the neighbouring quarter belonging to MLA Christine Lazarus, alerted the estate officer as foul smell began to emanate from the room.

On finding the door bolted from inside, the police broke it open and found the former legislator dead.

A case of suspicious death was registered. The body was handed over to the relatives after performing autopsy.
