Former SIMI president killed in Nalgonda road accident

Salauddin Ahmed (45) was proceeding towards Hyderabad after participating in a function in Nalgonda town when his speeding car hit the rear of a truck going in the same direction.

Banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) former president Salauddin Ahmed (45) died in a road accident at Peddakaparthi village under Chityal Police station limits on NH-65 in Nalgonda on Saturday morning.

Speaking to The Hindu , Bhongir DSP S. Srinivas said that Mr. Ahmed was proceeding towards Hyderabad after participating in a function in Nalgonda town when his speeding car hit the rear of a truck going in the same direction, while overtaking it.

The former SIMI leader suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad. He was declared brought dead by doctors.

Police said the driver and another person travelling with Mr. Ahmed in the car also sustained injuries and were undergoing treatment in a hospital in Hyderabad.
