Retired High Court judge and former Lok Ayukta of united Andhra Pradesh D.J. Jagannadha Raju passed away after a brief illness.
Jagannadha Raju (84) was admitted to a private hospital due to cardiac arrest where he passed away while undergoing treatment. He is survived by wife, three sons and two daughters. The last rites will be held at Mahaprasthanam at Jubilee Hills at 11.30 a.m. on Thursday.
Born in Viziangaram, Jagannatha Raju was educated in Loyola College, Chennai and Andhra University. He worked as Law Secretary to the State Government between 1983 and 1987. He served as High Court judge from 1987 to 1995 before being appointed as Lok Ayukta, a position he held till 2000. He also held various prestigious positions including member on the Board of Directors of NALSAR.
