A soon-to-be launched initiative of NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies) is all set to provide a major boost to the city’s start-ups.
A portal managed by NASSCOM will have an exhaustive database of product companies in the country. Still in its beta version, the URL www.productsmade.in presently has information on about 600 companies categorised by location, landscape and verticals.
The idea behind the initiative is to familiarise investors with the companies and its models. Prior to its official launch, the portal is being regularly updated.
Presently, there are 77 companies from Hyderabad, most of which are early-stage ventures.
“Everyone knows about the big companies, but this portal will give the much-needed visibility to start-ups,” said NASSCOM regional director Shrikanth Srinivasan. “The database will help investors know about the profile of the companies. The product companies will benefit a lot from the initiative. Any start-up can send an application if they want to get added to the website.”
To vouch for the authenticity of the database, the NASSCOM is involved in vetting the company’s information after the applications are received.
