The Telangana Rashtra Teachers Federation (TRTF) has urged the State government to undertake promotion and transfer of teachers by implementing unified service rules, citing the consent of the President of India to that effect.

The TRTF convened a general body meeting of the erstwhile Karimnagar district units here on Sunday. Participating as chief guest, TRTF State president Yellala Laxma Reddy said the government should create more mandal educational officer (MEOs) and deputy educational officer posts after the formation of new mandals in the new districts for effective supervision of schools. He also sought new DEO posts in the newly formed districts.

He said the government should appoint a deputy DEO post for every 40 schools or four mandals. He urged the government to promote eligible school assistants to junior lecturers following the consent for the unified service rules in the State. Demanding release of pending DA, he sought constitution of 11th Pay Revision Commission for its implementation from June 2018.

TRTF district president M. Prathap Reddy demanded that the government should abolish contributory pension scheme (CPS) and continue with the old pension scheme. TRTF State vice-president K. Ravikumar, State secretaries A. Venkataramana and Premsagar, and district general secretary R. Ramana Reddy and others were also present.
