Interaction must for doctors for knowledge exchange

There is a need for constant interaction between the experienced practitioners and the young professionals on the intervention of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology for exchange of knowledge on the technology advancements in the field for the welfare of women and infants, Principal Secretary Health Rajeshwar Tiwari has said.

Speaking at the two-day ninth annual conference on obstetrics and gynaecology, Fehmicon-2017, conducted by FehmiCare Hospital here on Sunday, Mr. Tiwari said that the interaction in the form of specialised conferences would enrich the practising doctors in government and private sector for the ultimate benefit of the society.

Director of the hospital L. Fahmida Banu explained various modalities of learning and knowledge sharing activities and explained the latest methods of ultrasound in the diagnosis of gynaecological problems.

Asim Kurjak, global director of Ian Donald School of Ultrasound, also explained about the latest technologies in ultrasound.

The purpose of the conference was to share the latest advances in the field and to create awareness in the fraternity.

About 500 delegates from India and abroad attended the conference that concluded with a workshop on unique USG simulator on Monday.

Well-known radiologists and gynaecologists including vice-president of Radiologists Association of India T.L.N. Praveen, M.A. Mateen, Venkateshwarlu, Nagasundari of Railway Hospital and others spoke.
