Flamingo fountain opened

Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain on Thursday inaugurated a flamingo fountain at Masab Tank crossroads. The fountain was constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.50 lakh with sponsorship from Canara Bank.

Mr. Hussain said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had come forward to take up such fountains on the main roads as part of beautification of the city. He said efforts were on to involve corporates, nationalised banks and others for sponsorship under the public-private partnership mode.

The GHMC maintains 75 fountains in various parts of the city.

N. Chandramohan Reddy, Additional Commissioner (Urban Biodiversity), Ramesh, Director, Urban Forestry, A.V. Ramani, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Circle 7, and senior officials of GHMC were present.
