Five start-ups -- two each from India and the United States of America, and one from Israel -- working in the video analytic solution space have been selected for a Smart City/Smart Building Nano Accelerator programme of T-Hub and United Technologies.

IntelliVision, Duran Inc., Emza Visual Sense Ltd, Uncanny Vision Solutions Pvt Ltd and Cognitifai are the five finalists of the programme, for which applications were received from across the globe.

They have a combined revenue of more than $4 million and raised between $7 million and $8 million in funding. They hold over 20 granted and pending patents, providing services to Fortune 100 companies, a release from T-Hub on Monday said.

“Furthering our partnership with United Technologies, we are announcing our first cohort of start-ups working in the video analytic solution domain,” T-Hub CEO Jay Krishnan said. The solutions offered by the start-ups are niche and would play a key cog in near future as the smart buildings and cities not only become reality but a scalable necessity, he said.

Executive director and head of UTC Hyderabad Research & Design Center Prakash Bodla said UTC HRDC is engaged with T-Hub on various events and activities.

The Video Analytics Challenge was announced in early September to identify strategic partners from start-ups in the space of video analytics and security. One or two of the start-ups that develop concepts of great interest to UTC would advance to the next steps of engagement, he added.

Vice-president of UTC Systems and Controls Engineering Ali Saidi said the Centre in Hyderabad is the largest engineering centre for UTC Climate, Controls and Security. Otis is also focused on intelligent building technology solution development.
