Carcasses of five adult peacocks were found at a farm in Domalapally village near Munugode of Nalgonda district on Friday.

It is suspected that the peacocks died after feeding on grass or plants over which the farmers sprinkled pesticide. “Reasons would be known only after performing post-mortem examination,” Nalgonda Divisional Forest Officer Shantharam said.

Around 1 p.m., villagers informed forest department officials about the peacocks. Three of them were male and two female. There were no injuries on the peacocks, the DFO said.
