Five multi-level flyovers in the pipeline

Hassle-free traffic flow at 11 junctions soon: Somesh

The GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Somesh Kumar, on Wednesday said plans were being made for a five multi-level flyovers near KBR Park since six different roads meet at Jubilee Hills check post. After an inspection along with senior officials from other departments, he said the city would have hassle-free traffic flow at 11 key junctions in next two years.

The Commissioner said there were encroachments and unauthorised constructions for which action has to be initiated and with regard to multi-level flyover construction, global tenders would be called in the next two weeks.

The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) MD, N.V.S. Reddy, said the multi-level flyover coming at Jubilee Hills check post would not affect the ongoing Metro Rail works and the visit of the line departments to these areas helped sort out some minor problems of the works, according to a press release.

The GHMC Special Commissioner and Returning Officer for MLC elections to Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad and Mahabubnagar, Navin Mittal, held a meeting with contesting candidates and sought their cooperation in free and fair conduct of elections. He informed them on arrangements being made for conduct of elections, including facilities such as strong room and counting hall at Victory Play ground equipped with CC cameras, said a release.
