Five members of a family kidnapped in Old City

Tension gripped Chandrayangutta area on tuesday night when five persons of a family were abducted from their house in Yousufian colony by some persons who claimed themselves to policemen from Santoshnagar station. The abducted persons were whisked away in a Red Tavera vehicle.

All those kidnapped are aged between 18 and 30 years.

According to Mohammed Ghouse, the family head, 8 to 10 people forced their way into the house around midnight and took away his children Mohd Sajid, (18), Mohd Rafeq (25), Mohd. Jaweed (20) and Mohd. Majid (16) and his son-in-law Mohd Mazher (30). The family claimed that the people introduced them as police personnel from Santoshnagar police station.

“They entered into the house even as the women protested and took them away,” Abdul Qayyum, a family member said. The worried family members approached the Santoshnagar and Chandrayangutta police stations but could not get any clue about their relatives.

The kidnapped youngsters work in different meat selling shops on daily wages and Mohd. Rafeq was married just two weeks ago, the family members said.
