September 04, 2013 01:04 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:18 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The murder of Mohd. Ahmed, a history-sheeter of Rajendranagar police station at Shastripuram on Monday night was a revenge killing, the police said on Tuesday after arresting five persons responsible for it within 24 hours of the incident.

The accused — Mohd. Babu Khan(30), Abdul Arshad (23), Mohd. Imran (25) Shaik Abdul Kareem (29), and Mohd. Arshad Ayub (23 years), all residents of Hassannagar — had hatched a plan and killed him to avenge the killing of Samad, a relative of Babu Khan at Bahadurpura in December last year, ACP Charminar M. Ram Mohan Rao said.

As per their plan, Babu went to the house of Ahmed at Hassannagar and on pretext of discussing some matters took him to Taj Tawakkal hotel. He ordered for food and at the same time alerted his accomplices over phone. The accused reached the hotel within minutes and stabbed Ahmed to death and fled, the ACP added. The police seized an autorickshaw, four knives and a stick from them.
