An engineering student was raped by a fitness trainer in LB Nagar, police said on Monday. Accused Prashanth Reddy was taken into custody, LB Nagar Inspector P. Srinivas Reddy said. Prashanth Reddy, who works in a gym at LB Nagar, is known to the victim’s boyfriend, who is also an engineering student.
The fitness trainer called up the woman on Sunday stating that he wanted to discuss about her boyfriend. “Reddy lured the student to his house in Balaji Nagar saying that her boyfriend was moving around with another woman and that he would like to reveal some facts to her,” the inspector said. Later, the accused confined her in a room and sexually assaulted her.
With the help of her family members, the victim approached the police on Monday evening. Based on her complaint, police took Prashanth into custody.
Jail for six persons
Meanwhile, a city court sentenced six persons to a three-day imprisonment for driving in an inebriated condition. Traffic police conducted a special drive against drink-driving on March 29 and 30 and booked 317 people, of which 238 were driving two-wheelers, 11 three-wheelers and 68 four-wheelers.
