The annual ‘fish prasadam’ ritual, organised by the Bathini family, would be administered at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally on the ‘Mrigasira Karthi’ day on June 8.

Bathini Harinath Goud, secretary of the ‘Bathini-Mrigasira Karthi Fish Prasadam’, told reporters on Friday that more than 4 lakh persons were likely to attend the event and receive the prasadam , which is believed to cure asthma.

“We will be meeting Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao to invite him to the event,” he said.

The Hyderabad district administration, including the police, Roads and Buildings Department, Water Works and the GHMC had already been approached for arrangements necessary for the event. “Starting in the year 1845, our family has been administering the fish prasadam for the last 169 years without charging any fee,” he said.

More than 30 counters would be set up at the venue to ensure that those coming for the prasadam do not face hardship. Around 300 volunteers were identified to offer assistance, Mr. Goud added.
