Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav launching the online ticketing portal at Secretariat in the city on Saturday.

A first-of-its-kind online ticketing portal in the country that acts as a single platform for all new and existing cinema halls and online ticketing websites to sell tickets was launched in Telangana State.

The portal, tsboxoffice.in , and an online single window system for permission to conduct shootings, were launched by State Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav at the Secretariat here on Saturday.

Both the initiatives were taken up under the aegis of Telangana State Film Development Corporation to benefit producers, exhibitors and the general public, said Mr. Srinivas Yadav.

The online ticketing portal would be transparent on sale and price of tickets, for both box office and online sale of all cinema halls in the State and would increase tax collection for the government by streamlining the data on the same.

It provides accurate data on the sale of tickets and tax collection with respect to CGST and SGST.

The Minister, addressing the media persons, said the government constituted a Cabinet Sub Committee for the development of Telugu film industry. He said permission would be given for fifth show to encourage small budget films and a GO would be issued in two or three days.

The single window system would help producers seek permission from film shootings within seven days of their online application to the TSFDC or it would be deemed sanctioned.

He said they would visit different areas to find a suitable site for the construction of an international-level film studio after Deepavali. Tenders were invited for the construction of mini theatres in RTC bus stands.

Convenient for all

Cultural Advisor K.V. Ramanachari said the online ticketing portal and single window system would not only be convenient for all, but would give clarity on income too.

FDC Managing Director Navin Mittal said the online portal would help all the stakeholders. For online permission, a nodal officer would be there in every department and they all would coordinate and give sanctions in seven days. If there was a delay, it would be deemed approved and producers could go ahead with film shootings.

FDC Chairman Rammohan said several decisions to help the Telugu film industry were being taken with the advice of seniors in the industry.
