A major fire broke out at Pooja Edifice building at Begumpet in the early hours of the day.

Six fire tenders have been pressed into service to put out the fire. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Reports said that fire broke out on the third floor of the building at around 5 am and soon spread to the upper floor. Offices of overseas educational consultants, law firms and a dental clinic are situated in these two floors, officials said.

As a precautionary measure the fire service personnel and police evacuated people from the nearby buildings. Senior fire officials are present at the spot and are supervising the fire-fighting operation.

Officials suspect short circuit to be a reason behind the mishap.
