The Sunrisers' coaches issued the first tickets to those who turned up at the Gymkhana Ground counter
For the handful of fans, who turned up at the Gymkhana Ground counter on Friday to buy tickets for the April 5 IPL match between Sunrisers and Pune Warriors, it was a pleasant experience.
For they received the first set of tickets from none other than Hyderabad franchisee head coach Tom Moody and bowling coach and former Pakistan fast bowling great Waqar Younis.
“It is a nice feeling to hand over the first ticket to the fans. Wish this will kick off an exciting season ahead for the Sunrisers,” Moody said even as the two former cricketers were cheered by fans.
Waqar was floored when asked about the famous Hyderabadi biryani by one of the fans who got an autograph signed by him.
“Yes, how do people here make it taste so good?” he asked.
Earlier, Moody and Waqar walked across to the centre of the Gymkhana Ground in the company of HCA curator Y. L. Chandrasekhar to get a feel of the playing conditions.
This was interesting as the management of the Hyderabad franchisee was already hinted at the possibility of shifting the practice sessions from Uppal Stadium (venue of all eight, home IPL games for Sunrisers) because of the on-going lighting work there.
