Ex-MP’s son shoots himself dead

A city architect, B Chandrasekhar Reddy (56) shot himself dead with a gun at his house in Banjara Hills on Sunday afternoon, the police said. According to the police, Chandrasekhar Reddy, who is son of former MP, B N Reddy, was staying along with his family at Banjara Hills Road No 12. On Sunday afternoon, the man went to his bedroom located on the first floor of the house.

“He bolted the door and shot himself with his licensed revolver in the head,” ACP Banjara Hills D Uday Kumar Reddy said.

On hearing the gunshot, his relatives rushed to the bedroom and brought him out after breaking the door. He was rushed to a private hospital at Jubilee Hills where doctors declared him brought dead. The police said that the architect fired one round from his weapon.

Family members of Reddy told the police that he slipped into depression over his failing health and might have ended his life due to it.

Senior police officials inspected the spot and spoke to the family members. Ballistic experts from Forensic Department also visited the house and collected some material.
