In his continuing tirade against ruling party legislator Chinta Prabhakar former MLA and Congress leader T. Jayaprakash Reddy has taken up a pamphlet campaign on various issues attacking the MLA.

In the latest campaign on Tallapally filter beds from which drinking water would be supplied to a number of villages, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy staged a dharna at the filter beds and charged the MLA with wilfully delaying the inauguration despite the filter beds being ready for commissioning.

In the pamphlet distributed locally Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy questioned the role of the MLA in the delay and warned that protests would be intensified if the water supply did not begin within a week.

Mr. Prabhakar reacted sharply to the allegations and termed them as cheap tricks to attract public attention and dismissed the charges as half truths.

Reacts sharply

“The works on the filter beds began in 2013 but were never completed. After coming to power the TRS government released the required funds and completed the works. Pipelines are being laid for about 476 kilometres under Mission Bhagiratha in Sadashivapet, Sangareddy, Kandi and Kondapur mandals at a total cost of ₹36.92 crore in addition to OHSR tanks being built at a cost of ₹19.87 crore. The works will commence shortly,” he told reporters here on Wednesday. He said that the works will be completed as promised by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

He said that the language being used in the pamphlets was most objectionable and degrading the stature of politics.

Party president B. Murali Yadav, Municipal Chairman B. Vijaya Lakshmi and others were present.
