Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Tuesday detained Estate Officer of Andhra Pradesh Housing Board, Dharat Reddy Jayalakshmi, after finding that she had amassed wealth illegally.

Searches at her house in A.S. Rao Nagar, office and houses of her two sons and relatives revealed that she acquired assets worth nearly Rs. 1.50 crore which were disproportionate to her known sources of income, ACB DSP T. Shankar Reddy said.

The properties included six houses, five flats and 13 plots, gold jewellery weighing 1.5 kg, silver ornaments and articles weighing 5 kg.

“The market value of the immovable assets could be more,” the DSP said. The DSP appealed to the people to pass on information about corrupt State government employeeson telephone no. 94404 46134.
