Chief Secretary S.P. Singh directed the officials concerned to make all necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of distribution of fish medicine at Exhibition Grounds on June 8 and 9.
At a coordination meeting held with the officials of all concerned departments here on Saturday, he instructed them to make proper security arrangements with CCTV cameras, lighting, strong barricading, temporary sheds for patients and their attendants, NGOs’ stalls, sufficient number of fish medicine distribution counters, provision of adequate drinking water facility and water tankers for storing fishlings.
He suggested the officials to make arrangements for separate queues for the differently-abled, aged persons and women with children. He stressed on the need for proper attention to maintenance of sanitation, garbage clearance, regular cleaning. Further, the Chief Secretary directed the officials to make arrangements for milk at the venue for the benefit of the people visiting the Exhibition Grounds for fish medicine. He advised them to ensure that token distribution is done properly so as not to cause inconvenience to people. Directing the officials to set up a control room to work round the clock at the Exhibition Grounds for monitoring the crowd arriving from all across the country, he wanted them to make foolproof arrangements for uninterrupted power supply, plying special RTC buses from bus stations and railway stations, arranging adequate medical units, ambulances and fire tenders.
