The Girijana Reservation Porata Samithi (GRPS) has sought categorisation of Scheduled Tribes to ensure social justice to all tribes listed in the Constitution.

A resolution to this effect was passed at the first State conference of the GRPS held at Bhakta Ramadasu Kalakshetram here on Sunday evening.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, GRPS founder-president P. Krishna deplored that members of Koya, Erukala and other tribes have a meagre representation in Revenue, Police and other government jobs when compared to Lambadas.

The categorisation of STs is imperative to ensure the benefits of reservation to all the tribes, he said, stressing on the need for ending unrest in the Agency areas and fostering unity among all tribes.
