Eleven out of the 24 students who went missing in the Beas river flow in Himachal Pradesh, belonged to Ranga Reddy district, a press release from the district Collectorate said.
Three students were from Serilingampally mandal, while two each were from Malkajgiri and Balanagar, and one each from Ghatkesar, Medchal, Hayatnagar, and Saroornagar. As per the orders by the Minister from the district Mahender Reddy, Revenue officials will help the families of the students by giving them information updates.

In a statement he said it was unfortunate that bodies of only five out 24 students missing were found so far. He requested the State government to help the students’ families in every possible manner and take a policy decision with necessary directions to colleges to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

A meeting of the State Council held here on Monday adopted a resolution expressing its anguish over the incident. It demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the incident by the Centre and strong action against those responsible for releasing the water without proper warning. The meeting chaired by T. Srinivas and attended by CPI national general secretary S.Sudhakara Reddy and national executive member K.Narayana expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
