October 23, 2014 01:35 pm | Updated May 23, 2016 04:05 pm IST - SANGAREDDY:

The district administration has received as many as 8,00,315 applications for food security cards (FSC) and 3,96,694 applications for pensions. The process of verification of applications was expected to be completed by the end of this month.

Collector Rahul Bojja and Joint Collector A. Sarath supervised the process of verification. Officials were directed to complete the process without any delay.

They were also asked to be liberal while sanctioning pensions for all eligible people. Recently, Major Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender held a review meeting at Sangareddy and held a video conference with all the mandal officials and issued instructions in this regard. It was clearly stated that all the eligible persons should get benefits irrespective of their nativity. The process was expected to be speeded up after Diwali.

“We have planned to complete the process before month-end so that pensions can be distributed from November 2. On the other hand, the administration has also received about 58,000 AAY cards which would be distributed to the eligible,” said an official.
