Eight injured in mishap at RFCL

Under-construction tank collapses

Eight workers were severely injured in a mishap at an under-construction water tank at the plant of Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) coming up in Ramagundam of Peddapalli district on Saturday morning.

According to reports reaching here the workers were erecting centring plates when the scaffolding collapsed injuring eight workers. Following the incident, the Singareni rescue team rushed to the spot and rescued the workers trapped under the debris of centring plates and iron rods. All the injured were shifted to a private hospital for treatment and their condition is stated to be out of danger.

Trade union leaders alleged that the RFCL authorities flouted all the safety norms which resulted in the mishap at the site on Saturday. They alleged that the authorities were flouting safety norms and not maintaining quality in work in a rush to complete the revival of RFCL.
