Ed.CET results released

Very high pass percentage recorded

The Telangana Education Common Entrance Test (EdCET) registered a very high pass percentage of 97.74 with 57,413 candidates cleared the test out of the 58,738 who appeared.

TSCHE Chairman T. Papi Reddy, vice chairmen Venkata Chalam and S. Mallesham, and OU Vice Chancellor S. Ramachandram who released the results said that counselling process for admissions is likely to begin in first week of August after the affiliation was completed by the universities. Admissions will be web based.

The toppers in the five streams include Vemula Madhuri from Karimnagar (Mathematics); Gannerla Saidachary from Suryapet (Physical Sciences); Vamshi from Suryapet (Biological Sciences); Laxmi Varaprasad from Warangal (Social Studies) and Tasseem Sultana from Hyderabad (English).

Final list

Common entrance test Convenor C. Madhumati said that last year 184 colleges offered the courses with an intake of 18,400 and this year too the number is likely to be similar.

However, the final list would be decided once the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) deadline for permissions ends on July 31.

Maximum candidates were registered in Social Studies stream (29,553) followed by Biological Sciences (15,877), Mathematics (13,245), Physical Sciences (4,337) and English (1,017).
