Following the High Court’s directions, the counselling process for admission into various engineering courses will begin on August 19.

A press release from the A.P. State Council for Higher Education said here on Saturday that Convener, Eamcet, had issued a notification releasing the counselling schedule.

Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha directed the officials to conduct Eamcet counselling as per schedule.

Verification

Meanwhile, Telangana Government Polytechnic Lecturers Association president Mallikarjun said that the counselling would go on according to schedule and offered to do the certificate verification process for students of Seemandhra if they encountered problems in centres located in their areas.

Association members said that they had represented to the Higher Education Department officials not to postpone the Eamcet counselling which has already been delayed.

The certificate verification would be taken up in 56 centres across the State.

Lecturers firm

Polytechnic lecturers have rejected the APSCHE officials’ appeal to withdraw their intention to boycott engineering counselling scheduled from August 19 in support of a unified State.
