Dutch delegation visits Biological E

A delegation from The Netherlands, led by the country’s Vice-Minister and Director General of Ministry of Economic and Foreign Affairs Marten Van Den Berg, visited Biological E. Ltd (BE) office here on Thursday.

The vaccine maker has various collaborations with industry partners and academia globally, including one with Intravacc (Institute for Translational Vaccinology) of The Netherlands. Under the collaboration, BE got Hib vaccine technology in 2005, which is used as one of the components in its Liquid Pentavalent Vaccine.

The delegation, comprising Intravaac CEO Thijs Veerman, The Netherlands Ambassador to India Alphonsus Stoelinga and Chief Representative of The Netherlands Business Support Office in Hyderabad Ajay Justin Odethakal, met BE Managing Director Mahima Datla and other senior executives. Ms. Datla said the technology transfer from Intravacc to BE is a testament of a successful alliance between academia and industry, a release said.
