A person riding a bike was killed while two others sitting pillion sustained injuries when a Bolero rammed the bike near Family World in Begumpet in the early hours of Thursday.
The person driving the vehicle was identified as Ranjan, a lawyer, Begumpet Sub-Inspector Krishna said. He was in drunken condition and sent to hospital.
According to the SI, the accused tested positive for drunk driving.
Two others injured
The accident took place around 2 a.m. Both the bike and the Bolero were travelling in the same direction. Death was instant for the bike rider, Srikanth, 27, while the other two riding pillion suffered injuries. They were out of danger.
A case of rash and negligent act resulting in death under Section 304-A of Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused.
