The surgeons of Deccan Hospital claimed to have removed a non-malignant tumour weighing eight kilograms, from the stomach of a 25-year-old youth Srikanth.

According to a press release, the hospital surgeons said that the huge tumour had attached itself to the internal organs including the large and the small intestine, inferior vena cava, the vein that carried blood to the heart and kidneys.

“We formed a team of doctors and paramedics from various departments and had to take great precaution for the surgery because the tumour presented a danger to the internal organs. The patient has recovered and will be discharged soon,” said Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist and Liver Transplant Surgeon Dr. Chetan Mahajan, who led the team of doctors while conducting the surgery.
