DIG launches Rapid Cop application

To effectively prevent crime

Deputy Inspector General of Police Akun Sabharwal launched the Rapid Cop Command and Control Centre Application by distributing investigation tools, law and order infrastructure and welfare-related items to police officers here on Tuesday.

As part of the latest system, which is believed to be useful for quick control of law and order situation, crime tracking and investigation, the Deputy IG also inaugurated the AR Men Rest Hall at the police headquarters here. He distributed handicams to 20 station house officers along with coolers and water filters in view of summer.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the Rapid Cop application was first introduced in the twin cities and next in the district.

With the equipment supplied to the police, the command control room could have fast and two-way communication, he said.

He praised the district police for their continuous efforts to check crime against women with the effective functioning of the She Teams here.

He also gave away commendation certificates to police personnel, including PRO Premkumar, for their service.
