Development should be inclusive, tweets Pawan

March 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Through a series of tweets on Saturday, actor and founder of Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan, made veiled criticism of the proposed developmental activities, including land pooling, for the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.

In his tweets, the actor said that development should be all-inclusive and not based on fear or intimidation.

Referring to the Hirakud Dam project and Polavaram project, the actor said that justice was yet to be done to poor families and tribal people who had already lost or would soon lose out on their livelihood because of such irrigation projects.

The actor lamented that politicians displayed a lot of enthusiasm while launching a major irrigation project but did not show the same kind of urgency and commitment in providing shelter to affected families. The actor maintained that development based on ‘humane touch’ was the aim of his Jana Sena Party.
