May 22, 2011 02:41 pm | Updated 02:41 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

As the Commercial Taxes Department is gearing up for general transfers on the basis of guidelines issued by its Commissioner, the Telangana Commercial Taxes Gazetted Officers' Association demanded that the government follow a fair share principle in all the State cadre posts. In a statement here on Saturday, the Association general secretary T. Venkateswarlu said the State cadre posts included Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and Commercial Tax Officers.

He said commercial taxes territorial circle in Hyderabad and Telangana region should be filled with officers hailing from Telangana region.

Non-Telangana officers may be considered for the remaining posts in the region, he said.

He alleged that a large numbers of non-local employees were working in the region on deputation in violation of Presidential orders.

He further demanded all such deputations should be cancelled forthwith in deference to the agreement between the Telangana Employees JAC and the State government.
