Dell employee dies after work-out in gym

21-year-old had heart-related ailment

A software professional of Dell company died after working out in the gym on his office premises at Madhapur on Thursday, the police said.

Twenty-one-year-old Varun Kumar came to the gym around 12.30 p.m. He used the ‘multi-station machine’ in the gym and went to the washroom.

“He returned a few minutes later. Apparently feeling giddy , he sat on the mat and suddenly collapsed,” Trainer Ravinder was quoted as saying by the Madhapur police. He was rushed to the near-by private hospital.

Doctors declared him brought dead. The techie’s father was a retired superintendent in Customs and Central Excise Department. He hails from Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh. He told the investigators over phone that his son had some heart-related ailment. Police registered a case of suspicious death under Section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code.

Autopsy of the body was conducted. Viscera was preserved and being sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.
