With the Conference of Parties 11 to the Convention on Biological Diversity round the corner, serviced apartments in Madhapur and Kondapur areas are all spruced up to greet the foreign delegates.
Bookings for two, three bedroom, and studio suites are in place and enquiries are still pouring in at the various three-star apartment hotels and ‘hometels’ here, most located within five km of the event venue. Cost effective, chic and homely, serviced apartments seem to be the preferred choice with visiting delegates.
The USPs of a serviced apartment over the star hotels include “spacious rooms, common dining and lounge area for the 2BHK apartment suites where delegates can have a chat, and a cost efficient tariff that is 50 - 60 per cent lesser than room rates at hotels for the same kind of facility,” says Ranjana Naik, director Swan Suites Private Limited, an ISB alumni and finalist, CNBC Emerging India Awards.
Jacuzzis, digital safe, gyms and a fully equipped business centre are some of the offerings that add to the list of facilities. As for the security aspect, serviced apartments have put the prescribed security measures in place along with security drills that are being conducted for the past few months.
“We have seven rooms booked by the delegates of CoP 11. We are offering wi-fi and a complimentary breakfast with suites at discounted prices for the delegates. The police team is also lodged at the building along with CCTV cameras,” says G. Lal, Manager, Oyster Suites, Kavuri Hills.
Having hosted international delegates and expats from various IT firms in the vicinity earlier, serviced apartments are sure equipped with the required paraphernalia to host CoP 11 delegates.
“Most visitors are vegans. They prefer fresh fruits and vegetables for salad. We have tied up with supermarkets for ingredients and food lists that can be made available to the delegates. Each suite has a kitchenette for ‘cook and eat’ facility as well. We are offering them continental food, with no artificial flavouring like thickening agent, ajinomoto and so on. All this with a home-like ambience,” says Ms. Naik.
