Despite submitting all the necessary documents and paying the requisite fees, town planning officials were sitting on them, says public
Three cases of delay in clearing the pending applications filed under the BPS and LRS by the officials concerned was brought to the notice of GHMC Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu on Monday. At the weekly ‘Prajavani’ programme organised every Monday with the Commissioner receiving the complaints/grievances directly from the citizens, the complainants charged that despite submitting all the necessary documents and paying the requisite fees, town planning officials were sitting on them.
R.A. Sharma from Secunderabad and J. Sreedhar from Shamshergunj were the two who charged that their respective applications for clearance under the BPS were pending. With regard to the first case, the Commissioner wanted the road alignment portion to be marked and taken over along with LRS payment for expediting the case.
K. Rajagopalacharya, also from Shamshergunj has alleged that his LRS application has been pending inordinately. The proceedings were ordered to be issued after ensuring the payments are made. Of the 47 complaints received today and last Monday, more than 24 belonged to the planning wing. Incidentally, a Congress corporator from Shaikpet A. Sudhakar claimed that the TP officials were ‘harassing’ even after permission was taken despite it being a weaker sections colony. Footpath encroachments were reported from Bahadurpura, Saidabad and Noor Khan Bazar, conversion of residential building into a school at Habsiguda, temple encroachment on road at Uppal, were some of the other complaints. Claiming that his entire property was being taken over in metro rail widening, Shankariah of Chaderghat sought compensation other than the amount being given for land and structure.
