DCM runs over primary school student

A class three student was run over by a DCM van at Moinabad on Monday morning, the police said. I. Vinay (8) studying at the Government Primary School, Chilkur, was going on a bicycle to bring milk sachet when a DCM van carrying a load of coal hit him.

“The boy fell and came under the rear wheel of the vehicle and got killed,” Sub-Inspector Moinabad G. Sanjeev said.

The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot.

Engg. student killed

In another case, an engineering student died after being run over by a water tanker at Malkajgiri.

Lavya, a B. Tech final year student, was going on a two-wheeler when the accident took place. “

The girl apparently slowed down at ZTS crossroads when the tanker hit her vehicle.

She fell and got crushed under the rear wheel of the tanker,” Sub-Inspector G. Raman Goud said. A case has been registered, he said.

Vehicle knocks down man

In a separate case at Golconda, an unidentified man aged around 60 years died after being hit by a vehicle at Shaikpet road on Monday. The man, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was crossing the road when an unknown vehicle hit him.

He sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The police are trying to trace the vehicle.

Man commits suicide

A businessman, B Sai Kumar (33) of Krishnanagar Colony in Bandlaguda allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house on Monday.

The family members of the man told the police that Sai Kumar got divorced from his wife four years ago and was in depression ever since. Police registered a case and are investigating.
