Friday turned out to be an altogether different day for three-year-old Shaik Madiya. Although a cancer patient , she played games and had a whale of time with other children suffering from the same life-threatening illnesses.
They played and danced to the popular Hindi song ‘Avi avi loot gaya….’ from the super-hit film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ amid thunderous applause from the audience.
Like Madiya, five-year-old Meharunissa too participated enthusiastically and danced to another popular song from the Hindi movie ‘Cocktail’.
Children participated in a programme conducted at Apollo Cancer Hospital, Jubilee Hills, on Friday. The event was organised by the Apollo Cancer Hospital in coordination with Deloitte.
Madiya and Meharunissa were among the 40 children who are either combating cancer or have survived the dreaded illness.
Close to 100 software engineers from Deloitte entertained the children by dancing with them.
“It’s really a good initiative taken up by the employees as it would help the society to a large extent,” said Hospital Director, P. Vijay Anand Reddy. Film actor Krishnudu was the chief guest. As part of their community development initiative, Deloitte employees celebrated the ‘Impact Day’ with these children.
