Dacoits gang nabbed

The Raidurg police of Cyberabad on Tuesday recovered stolen property worth Rs. 23 lakh and seized a firearm after arresting a gang of 11 dacoits, including five from Uttar Pradesh.

The accused used to steal copper wire coils, iron rods, brass material from construction sites at Raidurg, Madhapur and Narsingi. They struck at eight places in these areas and committed a dacoity also, Raidurg Inspector M. Ravi Chandan Reddy said.

On June 1, the gang went to Emmar Residential Complex construction site near Outer Ring Road. While some waited outside, others threatened the watchman with the firearm and collected the copper wire bundles worth Rs. 8.5 lakh. In another case, they took away brass plumbing material and copper wires, all worth Rs. 10 lakh, from Adithya Apartments site in Izzathnagar.
