Officials of various departments should work as a team to make arrangements for the prestigious Global Entrepreneurs Meet, said Chief Secretary S.P. Singh here on Thursday. The event, being organised by the US, Indian and Telangana governments, is scheduled to be held at Hi-Tech city from November 28 to 30. Mr. Singh, who reviewed the arrangements for the event said, officials should rise to the occasion and make it a grand success. The sub-committees should review the arrangements every day and work in coordination, he said.
Around 1,200 delegates including industrialists, business magnates, investors, entrepreneurs, prominent persons from the US, and Union Ministers, Ambassadors, CEOs of top companies would attend the event, he said. The delegates should be provided with welcome kits, travel route maps, transport vehicles and proper arrangements like security and transport should be ensured at the hotels, Mr. Singh said.
The inaugural of GES would be held on Nov. 28 followed by plenary session and panel discussion and workshops on November 29 and 30 respectively. The State would host a banquet for the foreign delegates at Falaknuma Palace on November 28 and dinner at Golconda Fort on November 29. Mr. Singh directed GHMC officials to inspect and monitor the city’s beautification works and deck up the city for the mega event. A team should be entrusted for every 10 km to monitor the arrangements. Shopping stalls should be organised with traditional handicrafts, Pochampally, Ikat handlooms, bangles and pearls which Telangana is famous for, the Chief Secretary said. Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said several programmes would be organised from November 17 in connection with GES.
