Cricket betting racket busted

Yet another cricket betting racket was busted by the city police following the arrest of an organiser, Ashwin Bung (28) from Begum Bazaar, on Sunday. Two laptops, three mobile phones and Rs. 3.05 lakh in cash were seized from him. The accused contacted punters over phone and accepted bets for the ongoing NatWest T20 series. On a tip off, the Commissioner’s Task Force (West) team raided a house at Begum Bazaar and nabbed him.

Burglars decamp with gold ornaments

Burglars broke into a house at Banjara Hills and decamped with 20 tolas of gold ornaments on Saturday night. The owner, Venkatamma, was away when the miscreants managed to get inside the house by removing the window grill.
