Cricket betting racket busted, four held

One more gang running a cricket betting racket using a mini telephone exchange was busted by the Cyberabad police on Saturday. Four persons were arrested while two cars, laptops, 40 mobile phones and Rs. 1.95 lakh were seized from the racketeers.

The accused, Nelapati Naga Bheemeshwar Rao (40), Parsagani Mallikarjun (34), Jedapally Suresh (26) and Nelpati Rama Rao along with Ravi, the main organiser from West Godavari who is absconding, were organising betting at a flat in Laxmi Mamatha Apartments at Swaroopnagar in Uppal. Police teams are making efforts to nab Ravi, who is believed to be hiding in Andhra Pradesh.
