CPI takes up ration dealers’ cause

July 14, 2017 11:43 pm | Updated 11:45 pm IST - HYDERABAD

CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy on Friday addressed a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, in which he requested the latter to pay attention to the “just” demands of fair price shop dealers who were agitating for payment of monthly honorarium.

Income of the dealers had come down drastically owing to reduction in the number of commodities sold through the public distribution system, he said, and added that they were incurring loss in transit of commodities.

In view of the strike called by them from August 1, the government should step in and provide relief to them, Mr. Reddy said.
