October 14, 2009 04:56 pm | Updated 04:56 pm IST - HYDERABAD

The CPI State Council on Tuesday demanded an all-party advisory committee to oversee flood relief work, liberal supply of cattle feed and a comprehensive inquiry into various disputes arising out of the comments made by the Central Water Commission’s chairman.

Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, party’s national deputy general secretary, and Chada Venkat Reddy, member of the council, in a letter to Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, wanted the unit cost of housing for the flood victim raised from Rs.62,000 to Rs.1 lakh. They suggested that an all-party delegation be taken to New Delhi, led by the Chief Minister, for demanding higher Central financial assistance to the State.

Meanwhile, the AP Ryotu Sangham urged the Government to increase the compensation for crop loss and extend the compensation to tenant farmers.
