April 22, 2013 02:38 pm | Updated 08:08 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

A 26-year-old woman Arifa Begum, 26, and her husband Rafeeq, 40, were found dead in a well at Bibi Ka Chashma in Falaknuma polic station area of Old City on Monday.

Both the victims were beggars. Rafeeq and Begum had an argument over going to Ajmer on Sunday night. “It seems Rafeeq wanted to go to Ajmer but his wife refused to accompany him stating that she had attend to her younger brother recently injured in an accident,” the Falaknuma ACP Taher Ali said.

After exchanging heated arguments with husband, the woman ran to a well in the locality and jumped inside. Rafeeq too jumped into the well to rescue. Both got drowned.

Their bodies surfaced in the water on Monday morning. The police shifted the bodies to Osmania general hospital morgue for conducting autopsy.
