An attention-diversion gang robbed a contractor of Rs.40,000 at Kukatpally on Wednesday. The victim, Srinivas, had withdrawn Rs.40,000 from a bank at KPHB Colony and came out when two persons approached him and asked change for Rs.100.

The man said that he does not have and showed them the cash he withdrew from the bank. They pretended to help him in keeping the money safely in his pocket and later the contractor realised that they had not put the amount in his pocket, the police said.
