Constable pushes four persons from train

September 29, 2010 06:53 pm | Updated 06:53 pm IST - Mahbubnagar:

A police constable pushed four persons from a moving train between Mahbubnagar and Devarakadra railway stations on Tuesday night.

Constable Salim Khan picked up an argument with four passengers minutes they boarded Kacheguda-Guntur passenger train at Mahbubnagar. Though they tried to convince him, Khan continued to argue with them and in a fit of rage he pushed four persons from the train for travelling without tickets.

Angered over this, fellow passengers got down from the train at Devarakadra railway station and staged a demonstration demanding senior police officials to take stern action against the constable. Services of other trains were also disrupted following the incident.

Mahbubnagar Superintendent G. Sudheer Babu said that the constable was placed under suspension holding him responsible for the incident. “We will initiate stringent action against him after an inquiry,” he said, adding that efforts were on to trace the victims.
