Conservation panel reviews list of heritage buildings

The first meeting of the newly constituted Heritage Conservation Committee was held under the chairmanship of R. Rajamani at the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) office here on Friday. The HMDA Metropolitan Commissioner B.P. Acharya, attended the meeting as special invitee.

During the meeting a general review was made of listed heritage buildings and it was decided to get a comprehensive report about latest developments apart from putting plaques at all heritage places in a phased manner, according to a statement issued here.

The committee suggested having architectural control on important heritage places such as Patharghatti and Laad Bazaar and also advised to give importance for Heritage Conservation in the proposed new Master Plan. On the eve of World Heritage Day on April 18, the committee decided to organise a programme to highlight Heritage Conservation and to put first plaque at the listed heritage building at Greenlands.
